Make small images larger
AI upscaling estimates finer detail as it enlarges an image. It can improve small photos and illustrations, but results depend on the source: severe blur, tiny text and heavy compression can still look imperfect. AI may also invent or alter details.
- JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF inputs; PNG output with transparency preserved.
- Images are processed locally. The first run downloads public AI model and runtime files; an internet connection is required until these assets are cached. No image is uploaded.
- Up to 50 files, 20 MiB per file, 200 MiB of source files and 200 MiB of output per batch. Each source must have at most 1,048,576 pixels total and at most 2048 pixels on either side. Larger sources are rejected, never silently reduced.
- Images are processed one at a time. Processing can take several minutes, particularly at 4×. Cancel stops the current image and leaves completed results available.
How to upscale an image
- Choose images, drop them into the tool, or paste from your clipboard.
- Choose 2× or 4× enlargement. The same factor applies to each image in the batch.
- Select Upscale images. The first run downloads the model; then enhancement progress is shown for each image.
- Download individual PNG results or save all completed images as a ZIP. Changing the factor clears previous results so you can process the original files again.
Choose your enlargement factor
A 640 × 480 image becomes 1280 × 960 at 2×. Both dimensions double and the number of pixels grows fourfold.
At 4×, the same image becomes 2560 × 1920. The tool performs two successive 2× AI passes. This takes longer and can emphasize artifacts; start with 2× if you only need a modest enlargement.
Use the image resizer when you need an exact width or height after upscaling. PNG results can be larger than the original file; use the converter or compressor when you need a smaller download.
